The OHV Trail Work Party for Saturday, May 10 has NOT BEEN CANCELED! However, due to the incredible amount of snow in the upper part of the forest we will not be working on the Crushers project - we are going to our PLAN B project and will be meeting at Browns Camp Day Use Area.
Project: 4x4 Trail Maintenance Project Location: Cedar Tree Trail and Lower Firebreak 5 Project Date: May 10th, 2008 Meeting Time: Sign-In at 8:00 A.M. / Trail Work Starts at 9:00 A.M. Meeting Location: Browns Camp Day Use Area
Project Description: The project will require walking and working on steep uneven terrain and hiking on and off-trail to access the work party sites.
Volunteers will help with spring drainage maintenance work including: - Clearing mud / debris from water bars / rolling dips
- Cleaning out culverts
- Pruning broken branches
- Removing debris from the trail
What to Bring: ODF will provide hand tools but you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer. Other items needed for work are: - Chainsaws (with chaps, hardhat, goggles, gloves, and ear protection)
- Loppers, pole saws, pruning tools
- Shovels, Rock Bars
- Quads (mainly to get around the trails - we won't be hauling any rock)
- Lunch / Water
Appropriate clothing for the work includes boots or sturdy shoes, long pants, and gloves.
